Relief Society Lesson from Elder Holland's talk Safety for the Soul

My Relief Society lesson last week went so well! I always prepare more than I present so I had 3 things planned and we did one. ;) We played testimony jeopardy and it was so fun!

Here were the clues if you want to play. It's harder than it sounds. The categories were Leaders, Scriptures, Modern Prophets & members and Local Leaders. I asked for testimonies from our Primary President, Bishop & relief Society President and included my sunbeam daughter's as well. My daughter's is in the post but not the others. I put up pictures of the prophets to help narrow things down. They did really well with the scripture category. It was fun and I think we all learned and were bolstered. :)

A. “It is both the duty and privilege of the Latter-day Saints to know that their religion is true”

B. And when ye shall receive these things. I would exhort you that ye would ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
also
Come unto Christ, and be perfected in him

C. “Testimony isn’t something you have today, and you are going to have always. A testimony is fragile. It is as hard to hold as a moonbeam. It is something you have to recapture every day of your life”

D. Thou hast been faithful; wherefore…thou shalt be made strong, even unto sitting down in the place which I have prepared in the mansions of my Father. And now I, Moroni, bid farewell…until we shall meet before the judgment seat of Christ. Quoted by ______ who then turned down the page after reading it to his brother.

E. No wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so.

F. The Book of Mormon is true It came forth the way Joseph said it came forth and was given to bring happiness and hope to the faithful in the travail of latter days

G. Hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ…and they teach all men that they should do good

H. A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief (I played the song) sung to Joseph and Hyrum by _________

I. O Divine Redeemersung by

J. A seer shall the Lord my God raise up, who shall be a choice seer unto the fruit of my loins…And his name shall be called after me; and it shall be after the name of his father. And he shall be like unto me; for the thing, which the Lord shall bring forth by his hand, by the power of the Lord shall bring my people unto salvation

K. Never again will the sun go down; never again will all men prove totally unworthy of communication with their Maker. Never again will God be hidden from his children on the earth. Revelation is here to remain.

L. In the same way that I know Jesus is the Christ-and that is by revelation from the Holy Spirit-I know that Joseph Smith is and was and everlastingly shall be a prophet of God –

M. Testimony

N. Be it known unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, unto whom this work shall come: That Joseph Smith, Jun., the translator of this work, has shown unto us the plates of which hath been spoken, which have the appearance of gold; and as many of the leaves as the said Smith has translated we did handle with our hands; and we also saw the engravings thereon, all of which has the appearance of ancient work, and of curious workmanship. And this we bear record with words of soberness, that the said Smith has shown unto us, for we have seen and hefted, and know of a surety that the said Smith has got the plates of which we have spoken. And we give our names unto the world, to witness unto the world that which we have seen. And we lie not, God bearing witness of it.

O. I know He loves me and we love Him

P. The tomb was empty

Q. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
