Primary Children Christmas Activities and Crafts
Primary Christmas
For the month of December you could spotlight a couple children as CTR Stars
Invitations
Advent Calendar and star invitation print on yellow card stock
The day of the activity have stars to follow to the centers in the different classrooms.
advent calendar
If you want to go the extra mile you could laminate the calendar and put velcro on the pieces.
Advent candy ribbon
Advent Candle - melt away the days until Christmas
I printed out the wise men scriptures to go along with the star theme and I made a different format of the poem to go on the back of the scripture calendar. (I found candles at IKEA for $3 for 8 and used a red & green sharpie to mark the candle Holly means Sunday - our candles have the last Sunday in Nov. because I'll be giving them out then.)

Christmas music CD and invitation
Burn CDs with music your primary is using this year for Sacrament meeting or Christmas pageant.
The CD could be a halo for an angel's face
After activity take some of the cookies to those in need and go caroling.

Cookies around the world
Mexican Wedding cookies
Bring a ziploc with powdered sugar in it and let the kids shake to coat cookies - cookies need to be warm so bake right before activity and keep them warm
Glazed cookies Make a glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk, water, or fruit juice until it has the consistency of very thin icing. You can add a little lemon juice to make it less sweet. Mix until smooth and add food coloring, if desired. Have kids use a pastry brush to brush the glaze onto the cookies. While the glaze is wet, they can sprinkle the cookies with colored sugar, sprinkles, dragees, or other small candies. Place the cookies on waxed paper until glaze is dry.
Chocolate dipped Melt dark or white chocolate chips with a small amount of milk in the microwave. Make sure you don’t overheat the chocolate. Mix well until smooth. Dip cookies into chocolate and, if desired, add chopped nuts or sprinkles.

Hand/Finger/Toe/Foot print crafts or meaning of Christmas Craft
I love doing crafts with kids. I like to think about what is going to happen to the craft or present after it is given, will it end up in the garbage, fall apart etc. This craft is a good useful gift that folks can hang onto.
The plates I got at the dollar store (IKEA was $3). The paint at Michael's was $5 for a pen, $5 for 1.5 ounce bottle (use your 40% off coupon). There are cheaper craft options but this craft will really last and be cherished so I think it's worth it.
I'm a sucker for crafts using children's finger prints, hand prints, toes, & feet. I decided to do just handprints with thumbprint reindeer.
If you'd like to do some prints here are some holiday ideas...
Holly Fingerprints
Footprints for dad
Walk a little slower daddy-poem
Angel (all in paint for our craft or you could do the one suggested)
This angel may work best for our dishes
reindeer
dove The dove would work well. You could either use paint for the hand print and then a pen for the beak or you could trace the hand with a black pen on a white plate and add a beak. The second option would probably be the cheapest of all of them.
Santa (we may use this one for our Christmas cards)
wreath We did one of these with muslin fabric and paint for a family banner

Foam stamps work really well. Use your child's hand print to create a Turkey. Mix a little glitter into the paint for a fun effect.
