BOB FOR APPLES THEN....
Cut an apple in half width-wise. Show it to all the children. Explain that in every apple there is a five sided star that holds seeds. Tell them it doesn't matter what condition the outside of the apple is in, the the seeds are still there. We are like the apple. We each have the ability to become like Heavenly Father because we are his children.
Discuss ways Heavenly Father shows His love for us. Attach clues to backs of large, individual block letters that spell “I Am a Child of God.” Hide letters around room. As children find and read clues, they could place letters on chalkboard ledge or wall. If letters are mixed up, they could unscramble them to find phrase.
Clue 1: I lived in heaven with Heavenly Father before I was born (see D&C 93:29). Color 1s red.
Clue 2: Heavenly Father sent His Son Jesus to earth to help me return to Him (see D&C 49:5). Color 2s blue.
Clue 3: Heavenly Father has given me an earthly family to help me and to guide me (see D&C 68:25–28). Color 3s green.
Clue 4: Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, created a beautiful world for me (see D&C 14:9). Color 4s yellow.
Clue 5: Heavenly Father has given me certain talents (see D&C 46:11). Color 5s pink.
Clue 6: Heavenly Father has given me Church leaders and teachers (see D&C 124:143). Color 6s purple.
Clue 7: Heavenly Father has given me the scriptures so that I can learn about Him (see D&C 33:16). Color 7s orange.
Clue 8: Heavenly Father answers my prayers (see D&C 112:10). Color 8s turquoise blue.
Clue 9: I can return to live with Heavenly Father some day (see D&C 78:7). Color 9s gold.

We made pumpkins using the following coloring page and colored the pumpkins the corresponding colors. To reemphasize the letters colors begin with I wrote a letter on each pumpkin in that color for example a red r for red etc Then we had a pumpkin patch hunt in the yard for the Child of God clues.

Color Hop
Cut circles or squares from different colors of paper. Use contact paper to attach these to the floor. Place them in a manner where the children can hop from one color to the next easily. (sing a color song as you hop)

Rainbow Bottle
Get several different densities of liquid (oil, water, alcohol, etc) and use food coloring to die each one a different color. Put these in a bottle (oil then water then alcohol) and let your children play with these bottles.
Match it
Get two empty egg cartons and twenty-four small rocks that fit in the eggcups. Paint the rocks and corresponding sections of the egg carton with various. When the rocks have dried, hide them in you sand table. Have students go on a color dig to hunt for rocks and match them to the correct sections of the egg carton.
Field Trip to the car wash
Car painting use toy cars to paint this is soooo much fun!
Play Red light Green light
Ramps/cars
Make several ramps of different heights for your children to play with. Ask them which one makes the cars go faster. See if they can tell you why. If not tell them why.
